Teething is when teeth start coming in. There are times when a teething baby may drool more than usual or may have discomfort, problems sleeping, or fever. If your baby is in discomfort due to teething, there are some options for you to help soothe him:

Cold can be comforting. You may wish to check out such tools as frozen teething rings to help your baby through the teething process.
When teething is accompanied by fever or nasal congestion, or if your child appears “unwell,” contact a dentist or doctor.
There are certain over-the-counter fever medicines that are appropriate and labeled for treating young children with fever. If you have any questions about your child’s fever or about the correct dose of medicine to give, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
